 Westfield Indiana has a population of 30,000 according to the 2010 census.  Westfield is 20 miles north of Indianapolis, in beautiful Hamilton County.  It is Indiana’s newest city, incorporating on January 1, 2008.  Big positive growth is happening here, the entire city is getting ready for the opening of Grand Park, a 400 acre planned recreational sports village featuring championship level outdoor facilities for baseball, softball, soccer, football, rugby, field hockey, and lacrosse.  There will also be two indoor sports facilities designed for year round play.  The entire complex will be surrounded by dining, retail, and entertainent venues.

   Founded in 1834 by North Carolina Quakers, it is believed that      Westfield was planned as a stop on the Underground Railroad, aiding escaped slaves.  Many families of the Religious Society of Friends and the Wesleyan   Methodist Church supported the cause.  Historic landmarks such as Asa Bales Park and the adjacent Westfield Slave Cemetery are distinctive reminders of the town’s involvement.  Asa Bales was one of the founding fathers of Westfield,  crediting with naming it after a North Carolina anti-slavery group, Westfield Friends Monthly Meeting.

   Top ratings are assigned to the Westfield Schools: SchoolDigger.com ranks it in the “Top 20” Schools.  Six elementary schools, one intermediate (5 – 6th), and one middle school (7 – 8th), feed into Westfield High School, home of the “Shamrocks”.   SAT scores show that Westfield students rank in the top 10 nationally

 Westfield is attractive due to affordability, excellent schools, friendly   people, nice parks & nature preserves.  There are currently 10 parks with over 130 acres, plus a trail system with over 10 miles of paved trails.  Additionally there are many recreational opportunities, including a championship golf course, league sports, ice rink, fitness centers, plus many popular restaurants and regional and neighborhood shopping.
